Smartphone<br \/>\nproduction requires natural resources including rare earth materials and energy, that<br \/>\nneed to be preserved due to their limited availability and depletion. Circular economy<br \/>\ninitiatives have become important in the last few decades, and one of them is extending<br \/>\nproduct life by reusing discarded products. On the other hand, triggered by the Covid19 pandemic, online learning has become an essential part of education. In Indonesia,<br \/>\nmarginalized communities or low-income societies have limitations in providing online<br \/>\nlearning tools such as desktop or laptop computers, including smartphones. Therefore,<br \/>\nsmartphone donation is considered a suitable initiative to help students who need a<br \/>\nsmartphone to join online learning while at the same time extending the useful life of a<br \/>\nsmartphone. Using decision tree techniques, we investigate the willingness to donate<br \/>\nused smartphones for education in the Indonesian context. The results show that the<br \/>\nrespondents&#8217; willingness-to-donate was influenced by several considerations, which are<br \/>\nperformance, value (price), type, obsolescence of the used smartphone, and the<br \/>\ndonators\u2019 age.
