Gan Shu San—often referred to as Shusan—has been with Petra Christian University since 1991. Shusan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Michigan State University (USA), and a Doctorate in Industrial Engineering from ITS Surabaya. In addition to his roles as a researcher and educator, Shusan possesses experience in academic leadership, having served as Dean, Head of the Quality Assurance Institute, and Vice Rector.
Shusan teaches in the Industrial Engineering Master's Program and the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, covering subjects such as mathematics, numerical methods, optimization, and operations research. Active in research and scholarly publication, he has published numerous papers in accredited national journals and reputable international journals. His publication record is reflected in an H-index of 12 (Google Scholar) and 7 (Scopus). His primary research interests include closed-loop supply chains, remanufacturing-refurbishment-reuse, and the circular economy.
