His deep interest in thermal phenomena then led him to the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to study Thermofluids with a research focus on heat pipe innovation (heat pipes), before finally attaining the highest academic qualification at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) through doctoral specialization in the field of Axial Compressor Aerodynamics.
